Thankfully I have a class outside of my building this quarter, or else I would have never noticed how pretty the rest of the campus has gotten.

Boo, I tried to put alt text, but it’s not working. What gives? D:
This is Washington’s campus? O_O Beautiful. Hope I get to come visit sometime.
Christopher Busby says:
You want to use the “title” HTML attribute, the “alt” attribute is more for screen-readers and most browsers won’t make the text appear when someone moves their mouse over it. The “title” attribute will make browsers give you the mouse-over text. Technically it’s not alt-text but title-text. </webdeveloper>
Oh, it’s fine then! I’m just putting it there for screen-readers. Thanks for the clarification :D
I hope so too! You know you have a place to sleep if you can get here :)

BOOOS from the great mostly dewhited north!!! BOOOS I say! *nibbles his sour grapes*
Have you seen Rainier behind Drumheller Fountain yet? That pretty, especially when the trees are in bloom.
Eric O says:
And to think that it was snowing here in Vancouver – just slightly over 100 miles north from where you are.Well, snowing up on Burnaby Mountain anyway. It was raining at the lower altitudes.
Erin Kohlenberg says:
The Quad is the best this time of year. Most of those trees are so old and yet they bloom furiously every year. :) it’s a pretty campus!
Nicole Schrand says:
Wow, I’d say it even rivals the Virginia Tech campus for loveliness at the moment! And believe you me when I tell you that Tech has a lovely lovely campus, except for the odd bit of construction. Even more reason for me to apply to Washington for grad school! :D

Ninja’d, was just going to say that.
PNW… so beautiful!
Nice photos. I may save one to paint from in my watercolor class, if you don’t mind.
Ted Powell says:
Burnaby Mountain above the intersection of Burnaby Mountain Parkway and Gaglardi Way is a completely different climate zone, as was repeatedly impressed upon me in the days when I was working at MPR in Discovery Park.
JT the Girl says:
Also, those blossoms are edible, which I learned yesterday on fb.
Does that mean it’s time to start poisoning pigeons?
wow. SO BEAUTIFUL! i wish nebraska had amazing trees like this.
Definitely not snowing in Vancouver. We also have cherry blossoms, and we might actually get some sun this weekend.

I actually met someone who transferred to the UW after seeing a picture of the Quad. It reminded her of an Ivy League school because of the brick buildings with terra cotta statues, even without the cherry trees being in bloom.I was here for two weeks before I saw Mt. Rainier down “Rainier Vista.” It was so spectacular (near sunset) I stopped my little seventeen year old freshman feet and stood there with my jaw in full dropped mode. This was even after spending time as a youth in the Yakima Valley looking at Mt. Adams. I think it had to do with the way the Vista is intentionally orientated, with the buildings providing a visual tunnel. This is because of the Olmsted family (landscape architects that were part of New York’s Central Park and Chicago’s Lincoln Park, and many of the Seattle parks!). More here:http://www.seattle.gov/friends…It is a beautiful campus. I hope my high school honor student who is both taking an AP class and some community college classes as a Running Start student can get in as a lowly resident in 2012! (she is taking Japanese AP as a junior, and next year as a senior will be at the community college full time). It seems non-residents might get priority:http://seattletimes.nwsource.c…Now if they could only get rid of Sieg Hall.
